AB  - This edition provides us with the text of the probably oldest collection of a series of dicta in the German language, here printed with the variants of the three manuscripts and with explanatory remarks. Composed in the Swabian area about the middle of the fourteenth century or earlier, the dicta originally may well have had the function of marginal notes to iconographical wall paintings in an urban council chamber or courtroom.
