AB  - On the basis of Kahn and Cannells model of the interview process and the theoretical-utilitarian orientation hypotheses by Phillips, the concept of the communication theory from F. Meier is critized. His concept deals with the problem of social desirability reaction and emphasizes the necessity to analyse the special character of the interview situation under relevant theoretical points of view. It becomes obvious that, based on the theory of reasoned action and the theory of instruments, the concept of the communication theory neglects relevant parts of the interview situation and represents a deficient theoretical analysis of the problem of social desirabiblity reaction.
