AB  - This paper deals with a new perspective in semantic research. On the one hand it will be argued that meaning constitution can often be regarded as an interactive negotiating process, on the other hand it will be demonstrated that interpreting activities in therapeutic discourse are regulated by specific procedures. These insights have also important consequences for the analysis of therapeutic communication.
