AB  - The cumulative dissertation (title: “Playful Innovations - Emerging Concepts in the Context of Multiplayer Videogames”) deals with relevant concepts of the widespread dissemination and economic success of an emerging class of digital technologies, so-called multiplayer video games (including League of Legends, Fortnite, PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds). Whereby, the dissertation combines aspects of business informatics, business administration and psychology in an innovative way. The dissertation consists of a total of nineteen already published research articles that focus on new forms of player experience and consumer behavior. The publications are distributed among internationally recognized journals (Internet Research, International Journal on Media Management) and leading conferences in informations systems (International Conference on Information Systems, European Conference on Information Systems) and digital games with an excellent reputation (The Annual Symposium on Computer- Human Interaction in Play, Digital Games Research Association Conference).
