Die Münsteraner Konferenz zur Biomolekül-Analyse 2016 war bereits die dritte mit einem Fokus auf der Proteomik. Seit dem Jahre 2004 organisiert die Core Unit Proteomik (CUP) des Interdisziplinären Zentrums für Klinische Forschung Münster (früher Integrierte Funktionelle Genomik) eine alljährliche bioanalytische Konferenz. Als eine Folge der gemeinsamen Verleihung des Transferpreises 2014 der Universität Münster an CUP und die Firma SERVA Electrophoresis GmbH organisierten beide Partner nun bereits zum dritten Mal die Konferenz mit hochrangigen Sprechern, Methoden-Workshops und einer Firmenausstellung. SERVA nahm das Meeting zum Anlass für den Launch der neuen Mercator Gele – des Produktes, dass aus der preiswürdigen CUP-Innovation hervorging. Das internationale Ereignis erfüllte das gestiegene Bedürfnis nach Informationen zu Protein-Analyse-Technologien insbesondere auch für Doktoranden.

The Münster Conference on Biomolecule Analysis 2016 was the third with a focus on proteomics. Since 2004, the Core Unit Proteomics (CUP) of the Interdisciplinary Center for Clinical Research Münster (formerly Integrated Functional Genomics) has organized the event as an annual series of bioanalytical conferences. As a result of the award of the Transfer Prize 2014 of the University of Münster to CUP and SERVA Electrophoresis GmbH, the company had joined the organizing team. Together, CUP and SERVA assembled a program with high-ranking speakers from the protein analysis field and a full day of workshops covering basic methodologies. The conference also provided a platform for companies to showcase their products. SERVA, in particular, launched their new product, the Mercator Gel, which was developed following an innovation by CUP, the CoFGE (Comparative Fluorescence Gel Electrophoresis) technique. The international event successfully met the increasing interest in proteomic technologies and provided a valuable information source in particular for Ph.D. students.
