AB  - If a C*-algebra A is a C₀(X)-algebra then the multiplier algebra M(A) is a C(βX)-algebra in a canonical way. In the case where A is σ-unital, we give necessary and sufficient conditions on A and X for M(A) to be a continuous C(βX)-algebra.
