AB  - This article introduces three fundamental frameworks for procurement. Each of them targets different aspects of procurement. All three frameworks have been developed and tested in the III. Global Procurement and SCM Study which is part of the biggest global procurement study series conducted. The insights of this study and the relevant findings for the chemical, pharmaceutical and healthcare industry are discussed. The article will thus answer the question why the procurement performance of this industry is only average.
